MLK Memorial Dedication Draws Inspiration

The statue of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Washington D.C. was unveiled on Aug. 22, 2011. The memorial was supposed to be officially dedicated that month, but the ceremony was postponed due to Hurricane Irene and dedicated in October.

WASHINGTON (WUSA)-- It wasn't the crowd that had been expected in August: but thousands did come from all parts of the country for the King Dedication. Some had been on the Mall for Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech in 1963. A few generations were on the Mall today.
