WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Sources tell our Bruce Johnson of a big fallout at Howard University.
This involved up to a 25% raise of 26 staffers who worked for Chief Financial Officer, while dozens were being fired to cut costs. Our Bruce Johnson has also learnt that the CFO is not on full time staff. Chief Financial Officer, Robert Tarola is actually paid as an outside consultant.
A source at the University says President Sidney A. Ribeau approved nearly $250,000 pay raises for CFO staff during mass terminations.
Howard University is looking at options for a hospital which is run like a department and cost the University more than $25 million last year.
