NEW DELHI (WUSA9) - Police in northern India have reported the arrest of a 47-year-old man after he allegedly sold his grandson to a local businessman over Facebook on Wednesday.
Feroz Khan, from New Delhi, allegedly kidnapped his grandson with the help of two temporary employees at the local hospital where Khan's daughter gave birth earlier this month, according to AFP.
Khan contacted the buyer on Facebook and decided on a price of 45,000 rupees ($830) for his newborn grandson, according to officials.
Police retrieved the baby from Khan and have returned it to the mother Noori Khan, says AFP.
Khan along with his alleged accomplices have been charged with kidnapping, AFP reports. If proven guilty, they could serve seven years in jail.
