STERLING, Va. (WUSA) ---  On Saturday, Just Between Friends, JBF Consignment, will accept any drop side cribs. In exchange, you'll get a $20 gift certificate with the event at Dulles Sportsplex.

Drop side cribs have been recalled by the Consumer Product Saftey Commission, because they may trap infants when the sides drop by accident.

A recall specialist is also at the event to make sure the 40,000 items are safe for sale.

JBF's event coordinator, Susan Gill, says the cribs will go to a wood recycling facility.

Moms like Fiorella Ruagule say in these times, getting a real bargain is a benefit.

"I got a check for the things I consigned, for about the same amount. So it's like the new clothes came almost free at the end," she says.

The consigners set their own prices for the items. They earn sixty percent from the sale.

Gill says consignment is an opportunity to earn extra income. "If the government does shut down and people don't get their paycheck come next week or two weeks, JBF will be supplying some of our consigners checks. So it will actually help out their family budget."
