WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Here's a warning for car buyers.

According to Consumer Reports, those turbocharged engines may not deliver the speed or fuel economy for the money car manufacturers charge.

The non-profit tested several turbocharged models from Ford, Hyundai, Kia and Chevrolet.

The results show they were less efficient than competitors.

But, a turbocharged four cylinder BMW did well in tests.

Ford says its own survey shows customers are satisfied with the fuel economy in their turbocharged vehicles.
