WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- We are working on your budgets for 2013, and to do so, it's good to know what you should expect when it comes to raises and what you should expect when it comes to paying at the grocery store, for housing and other key expense items.
Our partners at USA Today have been checking out the numbers and expectations for consumer prices in 2013 are pretty modest.
The consumer price index is seen rising between 2.1 and 2.4 percent -- up last year. That increase will pretty much wipe out your gains at work.
Wages are forecast to rise between 1.9 and 2.1 percent. Keep in mind, you are taking home less because your taxes are going up after the fiscal cliff.
