Shoppers Get A Jump Start On Holiday Shopping

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, shoppers have already plotted their paths to steals and deals, and here's what they're buying.

The NRF survey shows nearly 60 percent of consumers will splurge on fashion, apparel and other accessories.

About 59 percent will give gift cards as presents, while 45 percent of shoppers plan to purchase toys.

And, a little more than 23 percent will surprise that special someone in their life with some sparkly jewelry.
