WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) --- SYRA ARTS hosted an intimate, invite-only Azza Fahmy jewelry show, Nov. 20, 2013. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the Presidential Suite of the Capella hotel in Georgetown.

Guests also had the chance to see the debut of the Fahmy's newest jewelry line, The Suma Collection. This specific collection pays tribute to legendary Egyptian singer Om Kulthoum.

For over 40 years, Azza Fahmy's handcrafted jewelry celebrates the rich history of Egypt. Celebrity fans include Rihanna and Gillian Anderson. Bold design, decorative calligraphy, and precious stones and metals are defining characteristics of the brand. Many of the words inscribed in the collection reflect on the diva's sublime music and the cultural history in the region.

Take a look at the jewelry line in the photos above.

SYRA ARTS is dedicated to promoting contemporary Egyptian and Middle Eastern art in the United States.
