WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A former teacher has been sentenced for having inappropriate relationships with a number of juvenile high school students, officials said.
Steven Miarer, 38 who was a teacher at T.C. Williams High School was sentenced today on 'two counts of Taking Indecent Liberties with Juveniles'. He pled guilty to the indictment on October 31, 2013.
Officials say the relationships included 'unlawful physical contact with at least two students. The inappropriate contact was sexual in nature and took place inside of the school'.
Miarer was sentenced to a total of ten years in the penitentiary. He has also been ordered to complete sex offender treatment as a condition of his probation.
