W*USA-TV, the Gannett-owned CBS affiliate in Washington, DC (NSI Rank 8) seeks a National Sales Manager who will be responsible for achieving national revenue and market share goals. Candidate must be an expert agency cost-per-point negotiator, have deep-rooted relationships with our national buying community and be able to demonstrate a track record of developing incremental revenue above and beyond an avail request.
This position requires extreme attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A critical component to our success is being able to develop relationships with local-client contacts to influence positive returns for W*USA.
Responsibilities include weekly forecasting and account projections, update station ratecard, ensure pending is accurate and up to date, manage spot preemptions/resolutions daily, coordinate quarterly forecast/review meetings with Telerep as well as ongoing continuous dissemination of information and closely scrutinize CMR on a monthly basis to identify share growth/zero-share opportunities.
Requirements: Candidate must have a minimum of 4-5 years experience in broadcast television sales selling to ad agencies. Experience in selling in an LPM market and knowledge on how station inventory works is required. Previous Sales Management experience preferred but not required. Relationships with New York buying community a big plus. Client entertaining also required.
