How did Carrie Underwood feel after Thursday night's three-hour, live Sound of Music show on NBC?
"Glory to God tonight...I couldn't be more proud. What a tough thing to pull off and we did it! I am so blessed!!!' the star tweeted.
Unfortunately for her, critics, including USA TODAY's Robert Bianco, are not raving about her acting.
Review: 'Sound of Music' was a little off
People magazine: Underwood was "miscast."
The Hollywood Reporter: "Carrie Underwood ably belts out the hits - but her acting leaves a hole where this live production's heart should've been."
Variety: Underwood handled the "vocal chores more ably than the acting."
AP: Underwood "sang well as Maria but her acting inexperience was laid bare. She had zero chemistry with her love interest and lacked any intensity or shading. Deer in headlights have emoted more."
But there were some positive comments (along with the many funny and snarky ones) on Twitter.
Miranda Lambert: "Good luck tonight @carrieunderwood!Gonna curl up on the couch with my gal pals and watch you be amazing as always! #TheSoundOfMusicLive"
Kathie Lee Gifford: "I'm so loving hearing this glorious score on network tv LIVE! How about you?"
Billy Bush: "Bravo @carrieunderwood. This takes huge cajones!"
Brad Paisley: "Go @carrieunderwood go!"
David Gregory: "Watching #SoundofMusic with my three kids. Great music and a unique production. Loving it."
From the Jill Biden parody account: "I'm still working on getting Joe to respond to a whistle. #SoundofMusic"
And stealing the night on Twitter was the @DiGiornoPizza account, which cracked up followers with comments about the show such as: "Can't believe pizza isn't one of her favorite things."
