Police investigate fatal pedestrian collision in Upper Marlboro

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Upper Marlboro.

Patrol officers were called to the intersection of Watkins Park Drive and Winona Drive on Nov. 1, 2013, at around 8:30 p.m. for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian, police said.

Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering from critical injuries and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim is identified as 40-year-old Kevin Strickland, of the 12700 block of Redgrave Drive in Upper Marlboro.

Preliminary investigation reveals Strickland was attempting to cross Watkins Park Drive when he was struck by a Toyota Rav4, police said. The driver remained on scene and sustained no injuries.

It's unclear if Strickland was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision, police said. No charges have been filed.
