JOPPA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two Maryland state troopers were injured after they responded to a robbery in Md, police said.
A motorist was also injured after he struck the back of the patrol car the troopers were in. Trooper Zachary Shelley and Trooper First Class David Stanley were both taken to the hospital. They are expected to be treated and released, police said.
The driver of a Volkswagen Beetle, Trina Emory, 32 was also taken to the hospital, officials said.
According to initial investigation, Emory was traveling southbound on Rt. 152 and was unable to go around the stopped patrol car with its emergency lights on. It then struck the back of the patrol car. At that time, Trooper Shelley was inside the car. TFC Stanley jumped down an embankment to get out of the way of the Volkswagen after it struck the patrol car, police said.
