CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. (WUSA9) -- St. Mary's County Sheriff's authorities say that the same man may have attempted robberies at two pizza places this month.

According to authorities, on October 18 at approximately 11:13 p.m. deputies responded for the report of an attempted robbery at the Charlotte Hall Pizza Hut and a similar attempted robbery at Pizza Hotline.

Authorities say a White male, approximately 5'8" tall, wearing black framed eye glasses with thick lenses, black hooded jacket, black gloves and a black bandanna covering the lower part of his face entered the Pizza Hut. He then took out a small, black handgun and demanded money from the clerk, authorities tell us. The clerk said workers couldn't access money once it is deposited in a safe. The man then pushed over items from the counter and ran away.

The same suspect reportedly displayed a handgun and attempted to enter the Pizza Hotline, but the front door to the business was locked. He then fled on foot and and got into a dark colored vehicle, possibly a Honda, accoridng to authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det./Cpl. Robert Merritt at 301-475-4200 Ext. 9042 or Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333.
