WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) -- The picture of Maryland Attorney General and candidate for Governor Doug Gansler at that now infamous teen Beach Week party seems to have been a crazy scene.
Now a video makes it even more obvious.
The video was originally posted on the Instagram account of one of the graduating Landon School lacrosse players, who were in South Bethany Beach, DE.
Someone pulled it down off Twitter but it had already been cached at a site called Twicksy.
It's shot in the six second clips required by social media websitesso it's really jumpy.
The Attorney General and candidate for Governor Doug Gansler said he just zipped through the party to tell his son what time they were leaving in the morning. And the video shows Gansler in the hall seemingly passing through.
He says he didn't investigate whether the teens were drinking but in hindsight says maybe he should have. But for some, the video raises even more questions about why he didn't.
Some of the teens say it was hands down the best party they had every been to.
Gansler's campaign says the video shows nothing new. But he's actually getting some support in the media for his story. Slate Magazine calls it "sensible parenting."
In a statement from the Director of Communications for the Bob Wheelock, Gansler-IVEY campaign, it said, ""This video shows Doug looking for his son, as he has repeatedly said he was doing in interviews and a press conference. Time to move on to discuss the issues Marylanders care about, like jobs and being able to finally get healthcare through the Maryland exchanges."
And as father myself of a young man who turns 18 next week, I'm struggling with how to handle Beach Week when he graduates.
