(WUSA9) -- Monday, court records show an Edgewater man with ties to a movie star will serve 10 years in prison for sexually abusing two boys.
John Charles Villers-Farrow was sentenced in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court to 25 years in prison with all but 10 years suspended for the abuse. The abuse reportedly happened between 2000 and 2008, but was not reported until 2012.
A People magazine article from 1992 indicates Villers-Farrow is actress Mia Farrow's brother (http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20108549,00.html).
Villers-Farrow entered an Alford plea to two counts of sexual abuse of a minor earlier this year, which allowed him to maintain his innocence while acknowledging there was enough evidence to convict him.
In addition to the time in prison, Villers-Farrow will be placed on supervised probation for five years when he is released. He was ordered to register as a sex offender and can't have any contact with children under 18 years old. He also can not have any contact with the victims of this case, according to court documents.
