Dimitrov beats Ferrer for maiden title in Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden (SportsNetwork.com) - Grigor Dimitrov took down top-seeded David Ferrer in the final of the Stockholm Open on Sunday.

The seventh-seeded Dimitrov rallied past Ferrer 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to claim the first title of his career.

Dimitrov became the first Bulgarian to win an ATP World Tour title in the Open Era (since 1968). The 22-year-old also became the eighth first-time winner this year and the second-youngest.

Ferrer, the first Spaniard to reach the Stockholm final since Manuel Orantes in 1976, was trying for his third title of 2013 and the 21st of his career. He fell to 20-20 all-time in finals, including 2-5 this year.

Dimitrov improved to 1-3 lifetime against Ferrer and took home $130,000 for the victory.
