Kquante Fisher as seen on Facebook
FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say a homicide at a townhome in Prince George's County on Wednesday morning may be related to another murder.
Police say the victim, identified as 19-year-old Kquante Markis Fisher, was a witness in the murder of Marcus Antonio Jones, a Friendly High School student who was shot outside a house party in Fort Washington in January.
Fisher had originally been charged in the January murder but charges were dropped and he became a witness for the prosecution.
Fisher was offered witness relocation in March of this year and met with prosecutors as recently as Tuesday, officials say.
Police say the Jones murder was gang related and that they believe Fisher was involved in a gang.
At around 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 6100 block of Kidare Court.
According to police, they got a 9-1-1 call to "check the welfare" of an individual in this home. They found a young man dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Police say they believe this was a "targeted killing."
Police say there was no sign of forced entry and the event was apparently "not random." They are not calling this a home invasion.
