Anacostia Freeway lane closures on Sept 4 & 5

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Lanes will be closed temporarily on the Anacostia Freeway starting Wednesday night, DDOT says.

Drivers should expect delays while concrete barriers are being delivered and installed to safeguard crews that will be working to install new dynamic message signs on the highway, DDOT officials said.  

DDOT released the following information: 

The right lanes on northbound and southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295 and DC 295) will be temporarily closed on 10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 to 5 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the following locations:
 
Anacostia Freeway (I-295) between Malcolm X Avenue and Suitland Parkway
Anacostia Freeway (DC 295) between Pennsylvania Avenue and East Capitol Street
 
Additionally, to facilitate this project, the shoulders on northbound and southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295 and DC 295) will be permanently closed from Wednesday, September 4 to Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the following locations:
 
Anacostia Freeway (I-295), approximately a half-mile south of the Suitland Parkway
Anacostia Freeway (DC 295), approximately three-quarters of a mile north of Pennsylvania Avenue.
