WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- In June, The DC Taxicab Commission announced all DC taxis must have a new, standardized dome light installed by August 31st.
Correction: A reporting error in an earlier version of this story gave an incorrect extension date. The correct extension date for dome light enforcement is November 1st.
According to the Neville Waters with the D.C. Taxicab Commission, the law won't be enforced on August 31st and all cabs will have a grace period.
DCTC's spokesman said Nov. 1st extension was granted because of logistics and installation issues.
Waters says because of ordering issues, contracts and some lawyers being involved, enforcement of the new dome light law won't begin until November 1st.
