Sketch of the cab driver sexually assaulting women
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC police are looking for a man in a taxi who is sexually assaulting women.
Police say, in each case, the victim was picked up by a man believed to a cab driver.
The driver sexually assaulted each of the women on the way to the destinations, police said.
The more recent crime happened Sunday, May 22nd, on the 3700 block of Quebec Street, NW. The victim had been picked up in Georgetown.
The first incident happened on May 11th, when the victim was picked up in DuPont Circle and then assaulted on the 300 block of 18th Street, NE, police said.
Police released a sketch of the suspect.
"The victims in these assaults have described the suspect as being a Middle Eastern male with either olive or light brown skin tone, approximately 30-40 years of age, thin build, thick or curly hair, and wearing dark clothing. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored taxicab with dark interior," police said in a news release.
Both assaults occurred during the early morning hours and each involved a lone suspect.
DC Police Detective Ronald Reid is advising everyone to take note of their surroundings when the get into a cab. He also said riders should make it a point to read the information about the cab and it's driver that is usually displayed in the back.
