Muncie, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Bond logged a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Ball State Cardinals pulled out a late win over the Buffalo Bulls, 71-68, in a Mid-American Conference tilt at Worthen Arena.

Bond shot 8-of-14 for the Cardinals (4-12, 1-4 MAC), who broke out of a four- game slide. Jesse Berry netted 21 points, while Franko House and Majok Majok both contributed 12 points.

Javon McCrea recorded a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls (9-6, 3-2), who have lost two of their last three. Joshua Freelove added 15 points and Jarod Oldham had 11 assists in the losing effort.

The teams were fairly even in the first half, with the Cardinals shooting 46.2 percent from the field to the Bulls' 43.3 percent. The Bulls, however, hit 9- of-13 at the free-throw line and grabbed a 36-30 halftime lead.

Buffalo improved to 46.4 percent in the second half, but missed all eight attempts from the perimeter. Ball State increased the pressure and shot 51.6 percent from the floor to erase the first-half deficit. With 45 seconds left, a House jump shot broke a 67-67 tie and put the Cardinals up for good.

BSU outscored its opponent 15-8 in points off turnovers and 21-16 in second- chance points.
