Three people were shot dead and two others wounded Wednesday at an apartment complex near Houston, authorities said.
The shooting happened at the Peppermill apartments in Cypress, about 25 miles northwest of downtown.
Two women and one man were dead at the scene, and a man and woman were flown by helicopter to a hospital, KTRK-TV reported, citing the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department. KPRC-TV reported their conditions as critical.
The ABC station said the shooting was reported about 4:15 p.m. CT (5:15 p.m. ET); the Houston Chronicle said it happened shortly before 5 p.m. CT.
Witnesses told deputies that a man shot the victims in one apartment, closed the door and fled, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff had no information about a suspect or motive.
