FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Transforming their Life Science Class by taking it outdoors! Students at Lanier Middle School created their own ecosystem in the school's courtyard.
They learned how to test water samples for Nitrite, in a vernal Pool they built themselves. 7th graders are also constructing a dry river bed, that doubles as a walking path and moves groundwater through the garden. They've also learned the importance of mosquitos in the life cycle of a plant all while they are digging in the dirt! Pretty cool huh?
