WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) - A Westminster man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of his brother.
Carroll County sheriff's deputies say 34-year-old Reno Valianti was arrested at the scene of the shooting, which occurred around 11:30 a.m. Thursday outside a home.
Deputies say Valianti's brother, Michael Valianti, was shot in the abdomen. He was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he underwent surgery. Deputies say he was in critical but stable condition late Thursday.
Deputies say Reno Valianti will be charged with attempted murder along with assault, reckless endangerment and use of a handgun in a felony. Investigators did not disclose the motive for the shooting.
