TAKOMA PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Takoma Park Police say an attempted car theft ended in a crash in the middle of the street this weekend.
According to police, some time between Saturday at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7:00 a.m., someone attempted to steal the a woman's vehicle that had been parked at her home in the 1300 block of Elson Place.
Police say the thief punched the ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The car's owner discovered the next morning that it was moved about 50 yards from where it had been parked, left in the middle of the road, where it had collided head-on with a neighbor's vehicle, according to police.
