ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Thursday afternoon, Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will sign into Bill 27-13 into law. It establishes a county minimum wage that would be phased in over the course of four years.
The minimum wage would reach $11.50 per hour on Oct. 1, 2017, according to officials.
Maryland's current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, or $15,000 a year for a full-time, year-round worker.
