HALLOWING POINT PARK (WUSA9) -- A driver injured in a collision with a tractor trailer has a charge pending against her, say Calvert County Sheriff's Office authorities.
Thirty-nine-year-old Karen Ann Yarbrough Boyce of Barstow was driving her 2005 Jeep Liberty east on Md. Rt. 231 toward Prince Frederick when it crossed into oncoming westbound traffic at 9:44 a.m. Saturday, say authorities. The vehicle traveled in front of an eighteen-wheel truck and was hit.
Authorities say Boyce was flown to Prince George's Hospital Center. She was being treated for non life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. The truck driver was not hurt.
Boyce was determined to be at fault, say authorities, and a charge for driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs is pending toxicology results.
