Thomas Arthur Taylor Jr. arrested for gas can theft after getting tackled by homeowner

Thomas Taylor Jr charged with fourth degree burglary, theft less than $100 and driving under the influence in Calvert County

LUSBY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say a homeowner called them on Sunday night to report that he had tackled a man coming out of his shed with a gas can.

Police say the incident happened in the 11400 block of Horseshoe Trail in Lusby shortly before 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Police tell us that the homeowner released the suspect before they arrived, but after getting a description of the suspect and vehicle police were able to find the vehicle.

According to police, officers stopped the vehicle  and found 33-year-old  Thomas Arthur Taylor, Jr. of Lusby behind the wheel. They say he matched the description of the suspect.

Police arrested and charged Taylor with fourth degree burglary, theft less than $100 and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
