WALDORF, Md. (WUSA9) -- We are told four students and a driver were injured in a bus accident in the 2400 block of Davis Road in Waldorf Wednesday morning.

According to Diane Richardson, spokeswoman for the Charles County Sheriff's Office, a school bus and a Cadillac Escalade SUV collided around 7:50 a.m. near Davis Middle School and Northpoint High School. The bus had students from Northpoint High School.

According to Richardson, the students on the bus were triaged for minor injuries.  The driver of the SUV was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  There is no indication that the patient was a high school student, officials say.

Katie O'Malley-Simpson, spokeswoman for Charles County Public Schools, says four of the students were transported to a local hospital by ambulance and five were taken on board a medical bus.  The twenty-six remaining students were transported on another school bus to a the hospital as a precaution.  According to Ms. O'Malley-Simpson, none of the students had serious injuries.

DC Fire officials say they sent an engine, truck and mass ambulance bus to the scene to help with any crash victims.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
