LARGO, Md. (WUSA9) -- Sunnyside Avenue will be closed to traffic at the railroad crossing on or about Monday, September 16, according to the Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T).
Officials say CSX will replace a defective rail at the crossing during that time.
Detour signs and variable message signs are up to help direct traffic. Officials say from Route 201/ Edmonston Road, traffic will be detoured to Powder Mill Road and then to Route 1/Baltimore Avenue.
Sunnyside Avenue will reopen to vehicular traffic on Monday, September 23.
