Raising Hope

| Fox, Friday, 9 ET/PT

It's a new Friday on Fox, as the network makes some long-planned schedule shifts. The night begins with a relocated Bones (8 ET/PT), followed by a double-run season premiere of Raising Hope, which opens with an amusing recap song meant to jog Maw Maw's (Cloris Leachman) and viewers' memories. The Hope combo does drag a bit in places (the first outing is better than the second, should you only want one), but the show's cast is strong enough to pull you past the slow spots. If nothing else, it's another chance to spend time with Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt, and that's always a chance worth taking.

The Simpsons | Fox, Sunday, 9 ET/PT

Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss returns to her Sunday stomping grounds in modern dress and animated form, as she provides the voice for a woman who delivers a baby with Homer's help. She names the baby Homer, Jr., a decision she will most likely come to regret.

Eastbound & Down/Hello Ladies | HBO, Sunday, 10 ET/PT

Fans must take permanent leave of Eastbound, which ends its run, and a possibly permanent leave of Ladies, which ends its season with no word on renewal. Considering its painfully anemic ratings, you'd expect that word to be "no," but HBO lives in a universe where decisions are based on the perceived value a show brings to subscribers and -- sometimes, it seems, more importantly -- the prestige it brings to the company.
