(USA TODAY) -- Deal-tracking site Airfarewatchdog.com thinks it has come up with the answer, compiling a list of what it calls the 10 "most thrilling" airports across the globe.
Some airports make the list for white-knuckle landings while others are there for their unusual juxtaposition with surrounding communities.
Read below for the Airfarewatchdog list - complete with the site's explanation for each airport's inclusion.
Sea Ice Runway, Antarctica
Airfarewatchdog says: "Unpaved and a chance the ice could crack under the weight of a plane."
Gibraltar International Airport, Gibraltar
Airfarewatchdog says: "A major highway runs through the runway."
Madeira Airport, Portugal
Airfarewatchdog says: "Sharp turns and bumpy rides make for scary landings."
Qambo Bamda Airport, Tibet
Airfarewatchdog says: "Runway is 14,000 feet above sea level and landings are difficult."
Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport, Saba Island
Airfarewatchdog says: "No room for error when landing here - go too far and you're in the ocean."
Kai Tak Airport, Hong Kong
Airfarewatchdog says: "Closed in 1998, planes flew low over Hong Kong and were forced to take a hard right to land."
Matekane Air Strip, Lesotho
Airfarewatchdog says: "Located on a cliff, planes drop down the side before they start flying but most flights consist of medical and charity teams so leisure travelers can breathe a sigh of relief."
Eagle County Regional Airport, Vail, Colo.
Airfarewatchdog says: "Poor weather, high approaches and terrain make this airport a challenge for the most experienced pilot."
Narsarauq Airport, Greenland
Airfarewatchdog says: "Greenland's Narsarauq Airport is a traveler's nightmare. Planes approach the runway through a fjord and need to make a 90-degree turn to line up on the runway."
Ketchikan International Airport, Ketchikan, Alaska
Airfarewatchdog says: "The awfully short runway is close to mountains and the ocean, which drops to freezing temperatures."
