WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- At 7:13 a.m. Thursday, Metro tweeted out "Due to police activity, buses to L'Enfant Plz detour at 14th & New York Ave NW to resume regular route at 14th & Pennsylvania Ave NW."

At 6:58 a.m. VRE sent out an alert that said that Train 302 was stuck at L'Enfant due to equipment problems. Officials said the Metro Option is open. Riders will be able use Metrorail at no additional charge by showing their validated VRE ticket or pass to a Metro station manager.

At 7:15 a.m. VRE said the train was still stuck at the station and shortly after officials reported that three trains were running late: Train 304, Train 306, and Train 326.

At 8:20 a.m. VRE officials reported that trains were  moving slowly past L'Enfant, but there were residual delays. They recommended riders use Metro "at Alexandria as the quickest alternative headed towards Union Station."
