WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Brides Against Breast Cancer will host a charity gown sale at the Dupont Circle Hotel at 1500 New Hampshire Avenue on September 13th and 14th.
Friday afternoon, the organization's big pink truck will arrive at the hotel's loading dock with 1,000 gowns. At 6 p.m., brides will get the first look at the gowns at a soldout VIP event.
The next day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. brides, friends and family will be able to go through the gowns. Most gown prices range from $99 to $799.
You can also help the organization by donating your newer gown for a tax deduction. You can also attend or volunteer at a gown show.
You can register to attend the Charity Gown Sale online at www.bridesabc.org.
Ashley Ritter brought some models with gorgeous dresses to the WUSA 9 studio on Friday morning. She told us, "We get wedding gowns donated from past brides, designers, boutiques. They're new and used."
One model wore a beautiful, A-line gown with sparkles on the top and a lovely bow. It was originally $190. The dress is selling this weekend for $100. Another model wore a beautiful drop-waist gown with some lace detailing. A third model wore a more vintage look with lace mimicking the royal wedding dress. It was originally $3,000, but will sell for $550.
The sizes at the event run the gamut so all prospective brides can come check them out.
This is an event that benefits all cancers. Brides Against Breast Cancer will be raising $2 million this year to fund free programs for cancer patients and their family members.
