TOWSON, Md. (AP) - A high school sophomore who pleaded guilty to attempted murder for a school cafeteria shooting in Baltimore County has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Deputy State's Attorney John Cox said 15-year-old Robert Gladden Jr. was sentenced Monday for the shooting at Perry Hall High School last year.

Gladden pleaded guilty last week to attempted first-degree murder.

The charge involved 17-year-old Daniel Borowy, who was hit in the back with a shotgun blast Aug. 27, the first day of classes at Perry Hall High School. Borowy, who has Down syndrome, missed more than two months of school while recuperating from his injuries.

Baltimore County police released 21 calls to 911 made after the shooting. Many of them were from concerned parents who had heard about the shooting.
