ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley says the state continues to work to improve its health-insurance exchange website.

O'Malley briefed reporters Wednesday on efforts to make the exchange more accessible and on the progress in enrolling uninsured Marylanders. Also on Wednesday, the state released new figures on the number of state residents who have signed up for insurance.

Through Saturday, 3,024 Marylanders have enrolled in private health plans through the state's health exchange, called Maryland Health Connection. Another 11,493 Marylanders have been found eligible to sign up for Medicaid coverage through the exchange.

The state expects that more than 95,000 Marylanders will receive health coverage by Jan. 1 under the Affordable Care Act, through expanded Medicaid and subsidized private insurance.
