ASPEN HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police are investigating a homicide on Thursday morning.

Police say they were dispatched to a home in the 13400 block of Grenoble Drive in Aspen Hill at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday for a home invasion. Police said they found a man shot in the residence. He was transported to a trauma center and succumbed to his injuries. Police say they were notified of the victim's death at 2:30 a.m.

Police say that at least three males entered the house through the front door, had some kind of dispute with the victim and the victim was shot. Police believe that there is a connection between the suspects and either the victim or the other males who live at the house, officials said.

There were other people in the house at the time and police are interviewing them in hopes of getting more information, officials said.

Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
