WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Four 16-year-olds have been arrested in an ongoing investigation into the murder of a Woodbridge teen, Prince William County Police said.
The teens were the acquaintances who went along with Kenny Diaz, 18, of Woodbridge, to a home where a confrontation took place that resulted in Diaz's stabbing death, police said.
They have been charged with attempted armed robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and conspiracy to commit a felony, officials said.
Tuesday, police said six people were arrested in the murder of the high school student, who was found stabbed at Marumsco Acre Lake Park in Woodbridge on Saturday afternoon.
Police say 19-year-old Diandra Janae Samuels is charged with murder, aggravated malicious wounding, abduction, armed robbery, and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Tuesday, 26-year-old Dominic Smith was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and abduction. Twenty-nine-year old Deneen Antoinette Williams, 22-year-old Renee Claytor Caples, 24-year-old Teena Marie Gerbozy and 22-year-old Gregory Allan Bonds were charged with abduction, according to police.
Wednesday, police said 19-year-old Ariel Juanita Adams and 32-year-old Gibreal Guled were also charged with abduction. They were found by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday.
All the suspects are being held without bond, say police.
Police say their investigation so far revealed that the stabbing was connected to an unreported armed robbery committed against a friend of Diaz. According to police, Samuels robbed the friend on Sept. 12 in the 14300 block of Bellona Road in Woodbridge. Diaz and his acquaintances planned to confront Samuels about the robbery at her home, say police. Samuels was at home with some acquaintances. Police say Smith, one of Samuels' acquaintances, assaulted one of Diaz's acquaintances with a handgun that was taken from one of those acquaintances.
Then, police say, the group fled on foot but Diaz was not able to get away. Police tell us that Samuels assaulted Diaz before forcing him into the vehicle. Samuels and her friends too him to the park where she stabbed and killed him, according to police.
Police say they believe they have arrested the main people involved in the case, which stemmed from drug dealings. Other charges may be brought against the suspects.
