WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Consumer Reports has issued an important safety alert for a stroller travel system marketed by model Heidi Klum.

Tests of Klum's $220 Truly Scrumptious travel system reveal the harness posed a safety risk.

"We applied the amount of tension the harness should be able to withstand, based on the voluntary industry safety standard.  The right side of the harness buckle popped open ten out of 15 times in our tests," says John Galeotafiore.

All three different samples of Klum's travel system had the same problem when tests were performed on them, too.

In a second test that simulated a stroller hitting a curb, the stroller's buckle released seven out of 15 times.

Consumer Reports says Klum's stroller was the only one with this problem out of the 100 that were rated.

It has designated the Truly Scrumptious travel system, model# TR252BQR, by Heidi Klum a don't buy safety risk.

There have been no reports of injuries, but Consumer Reports says the danger is that a child can fall out of the stroller and get hurt if the harness fails.

The car seat included in the Truly Scrumptious travel system has its own harness that did pass Consumer Reports safety tests.

The advocacy group says if you have it, you can continue to use the car seat either in the stroller or in your car, but urges parents not to use the stroller and should consider asking Babies R Us for a refund.

They do recommend the $330 Chicco Cortina KeyFit travel system.

Truly Scrumptious Stroller Judged Safety Risk

Consumer Reports has notified the maker of the Truly Scrumptious travel system by Heidi Klum, the Dorel Juvenile Group, which says it disagrees with Consumer Reports' conclusions based on its own internal and outside tests.'

The company says it has had no complaints about the buckle releasing.
